Health, unity and wholeness begins with each one of us feeling and sensing inner peace. With our bodies, with our minds, feeling our emotions and connected to our spirit. Movement should embrace individuality, love, power, receptivity, balance, self-inquiry, free expression, exploration and growth,
which is a freedom. The body is a gift and movement is our way. Let yourself become immersed in the sea of visual beauty, earth, colour, man, woman, time, space, motion and emotion. Nia means
NOW or being aware – it is the body’s way, in Swahili, Nia means “with purpose”
–enter into the experience and the practise of NIA – open to what you see and feel, listen and respond using your whole body. Awaken to intention and your very own dance. Nia does not say... do it this way. It says: “I am dancing through life... do it with me!” Find your own dance and your own body’s way.
Nia teaches you to be mindful and conscious, to honour your unique structure
and elicit the truest expression of yourself by moving in loving ways. Nia
encourages individual free expressive movement to create physical, mental,
emotional and spiritual fitness and wellbeing. Nia is a process with tools to
help you obtain awareness, fitness and health. Apply conscious attention, notice
and become aware – be passionate, embrace patience and direct your energy in
ways to work effectively. Trust the body’s wisdom. Make room to grow in your own
time, at your own speed, in your own way. I invite you to receive the practise
